Dwayne Dimm
My CrossFit journey began in 2010 when a college friend opened a gym and I gave it a shot as I was looking to get back into fitness. I had been working a desk job for awhile after college and as many stories go, was gaining weight and losing focus. I was about to go back to the 24/7 type gym when I heard of CrossFit for the first time. After visiting an open house as he was opening the doors for the first time I was hooked. It kicked my butt and I knew that was what I needed along with the camaraderie that I felt while doing the workout and afterwards. Fast forward to 2012 when I and my business partner & close friend (who unfortunately passed) decided to open CrossFit BR and give others the same opportunity to find fitness and improve their lives. We’ve come a long way since then by improving our coaching skills, programming, and expanding our facilities. Something that hasn’t changed is that we and our coaches have always had a genuine care for our clients to see success in their fitness goals.

When did you start CrossFit and why?
I started CrossFit in 2015. I was at a point in my life that I needed to make some real changes and I thought losing weight was the first step in that journey so I walked in to ask some questions and here we are.
Why do you coach?
CrossFit has changed my life over the years and it gave me the confidence to face obstacles that seemed impossible to overcome. I believe in the methodology of CrossFit, its purpose, and the impact that coaches can have on others whether it is inside or outside the box.

I studied Fashion Design at the Art Institute of NY.

When did you start CrossFit and why?
Started in spring of 2017 right after the OPEN. That was terrifying. I have had a passion for nutrition and fitness since high school, which led me to find ways to stay fit. I learned about CrossFit in college and always wanted to try it. Well, I got the opportunity a few years out from school and fell in love with the mental and physical challenges that it brought. The community and the discipline has taught me alot in my life’s journey.
Why do you coach?
CrossFit has provided me opportunities that I want to contribute to others. Assisting and encouraging everyone with their workouts to achieve their goal is what makes coaching fun. To see someone succeed, whether it is inside or outside the gym, is exhilarating.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I own two adorable Shih tzu, Mocha and Beanie, or should I name them Spoiled and Rotten.
